Overview

Vellore is a city in Tamil Nadu that is famous for its educational institutions, such as Christian Medical College and Hospital and VIT University, making it a premier center for medical tourism and education in the country. Besides, Vellore has religious establishments galore such as Jalakandeswarar Temple, Golden Temple of Mahalakshmi or Lakshmi Narayani temple at Sripura, Eswar Temple, Big Mosque and St. John's Church. There is the Subramanyar temple at Kangeyanallur which is believed to be more than 500 years old and the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, widely held to be 1,000 years old. A visit to Yelagiri Hill station with the Jalagamparai Waterfalls and Punganoor Lake nearby should feature on one’s itinerary. The waterfalls at Amirthi are a picturesque spot and for a refreshing jaunt, drop in at the Amirthi Zoological Park. Tour Plan

Day 1 - Pick up - Trivandrum Airport/ Railway Station

On arrival in Trivandrum airport or railway station, proceed to the hotel in Kovalam. On arrival, check in at the hotel and enjoy spending your day at leisure. In the evening, visit Shree Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Attukal Bhagavathy Amman Temple.

Day 2 - Trivandrum - Kanyakumari (90 Km/ 2.4 hours)

Proceed to Kanyakumari. Enroute, visit Suchindram Temple. On arrival in Kanyakumari, check in at the hotel and visit Bhagavathi Amman Temple, Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda Rock Memorial. In the evening, watch the panoramic view of the sunset.

Day 3 - Kanyakumari - Rameswaram (309 Km/ 5 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Rameswaram. Arrive and check in at the hotel.

Day 4 - Rameswaram - Madurai (170 Km/ 3.2 hours)

Visit Ramanathaswamy Temple, Ramar Patham, Lakshman Patham, Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple and 22 theerthams. In the Afternoon, check out from the hotel and head to Madurai. On arrival, visit Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal and Meenakshi Amman Temple.

Day 5 - Madurai - Trichy (133 Km/ 2 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head to Trichy. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Enjoy spending your day at leisure. In the evening, visit Sri Ranganthaswami Temple.

Day 6 - Trichy - Thanjavur - Kumbakonam (100 Km/ 2 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Thanjavur and visit Shri Brihadeeshwarar Temple. Later, drive to Kumbakonam and visit other temples of Kumbakonam.

Day 7 - Kumbakonam - Chidambram- Tiruvannamalai (162 Km/ 3.2 hours)

Visit famous temples in Kumbakonam and Vaitheeshwaran Temple. Check out from the hotel and proceed to Tiruvannamalai via Chidambaram. Visit Nataraja Temple. On arrival, check in at the hotel.

Day 8 - Tiruvannamalai - Vellore - Tirupati (194 Km/ 4 hours)

In the morning, visit Annamalaiyar Temple. Check out from the hotel and drive to Vellore. Here, visit Golden Temple. Later, drive to Thirumala and spend the day at leisure.

Day 9 - Thirumala

In the morning, drive to Thirumala and visit the temple. Later, visit Padmavathi Ammavari Temple.

Day 10 - Tirupati - Chennai (135 Km/ 3 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Chennai for your onward journey
