Overview

Kovalam’s three sandy beaches, separated by rocks, draw several tourists to this picturesque little town. These beaches are the Samudra Beach, Hawa Beach and the Lighthouse Beach. Apart from these beautiful beaches, Kovalam is also famous for being a wellness hotspot. Most of the resorts in Kovalam offer Ayurvedic massages, as well as yoga, herbal body toning, and meditation sessions. The Kovalam Surf Club on Lighthouse Beach provides basic lessons on how to surfboard, as well as rents out surfboards for those interested. Several interesting cultural programmes are hosted in Kovalam. These include the Swati Thirunal Music Festival, the Nishagandhi Dance Festival, Fandango (food festival), the Elephant Festival

Tour Plan

Day 1 - Madurai To Kodaikanal (146 kms approx)

On arrival at Madurai airport OR railway station, proceed to Kodaikanal. Upon arrival at Kodaikanal, transfer to the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Have a comfortable overnight stay.

Kodaikanal, the Princess of Hill Stations, is a must visit for a scenic and peaceful holiday in the spectacularly beautiful Western Ghats. Located on the southern ridge of Palani hills in Tamil Nadu this genteel hill station was established by missionaries as a retreat from the oppressive heat of the plains. Kodaikanal has since grown into a popular holiday town, with something for everyone. Thickly wooded glades interspersed with small water bodies create an atmosphere of tranquility, while various activities such as treks and boating offer more excitement. The star-shaped Kodai Lake is the focal point around which the city settled. A weeklong summer festival is organized in May every year as well.

Day 2 - Kodaikanal

After breakfast, enjoy a local sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal visiting the Pillar Rocks, Coaker's walk and the magnificent Bear Shola waterfalls. In the afternoon, spend some time in Bryant Park and enjoy boating on the beautiful Kodai Lake (on direct payment basis). Overnight stay at hotel

Day 3 - Kodaikanal To Madurai | 120 kms (4 hours approx

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and depart for Madurai. On arrival, check-in and relax. Later in the day, embark on a local sightseeing tour of Madurai covering places such as Sri Meenakshi Sundareshwara Temple, art museum, Puthu Mandapam, and Raya Gopuram etc. Return to the hotel after the tour and have a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4 - Rameshwaram

After breakfast, drive off to Rameshwaram. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and proceed for a local tour of the town. one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Legend says that Ramanatha Swamy Temple stands where Lord Rama performed worship of a Sand Lingam made by Sita. Other places of interest in Rameshwaram are Ramanathaswamy Temple, Dhanushkodi, Agnitheertham Gandamadana Parvatham etc. Stay overnight at your hotel in Rameshwaram.

Day 5 - Rameshwaram To Kanyakumari

After breakfast, proceed to Kanyakumari. The Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal merge at Kanyakumari. It is an important pilgrimage center for Hindus. Upon arrival in Kanyakumari, check-in at the hotel and proceed on a visit to Vevakananda Rock, Gandhi Museum and Kumari Amman Temple. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 - Kanyakumari - Kovalam

After enjoying breakfast, drive to Kovalam via Trivandrum. Trivandrum is the capital city of Kerala. The Padmanabha Swami Temple, Kuthiramalika Palace and the Napier Museum are some of the heritage attractions at Trivandrum. Upon arrival in Kovalam, check-in at a beach resort and relax on the beach shores of Kovalam. Stay overnight at hotel in Kovalam.

Day 7 - Kovalam

Breakfast at the hotel.Day at leisure for independent activities / relaxation. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 8 - Kovalam To Trivandurm | 20 kms

After your breakfast, check-out from the beach resort and proceed to Trivandrum airport to board a flight for your onward destination.
