Feel the goosebumps rise on your skin as you stand on Vivekananda’s Rock, a memorial situated on a gigantic rock 500m away from the mainland. The V-shaped continent at your back and the never-ending ocean before you, makes you feel as though you are standing at the tip of the world. Adjacent to this memorial, the Thiruvalluvar Statue rises more than a hundred feet to the sky, representing the teachings of the ancient Tamil philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. With a history that has roots in mythology, the temple of the Virgin Mother Goddess or Devi Kanya Kumari attracts millions of pilgrims every year. Being the location of the amazing confluence of Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, Kanyakumari offers an exhilarating respite from a hectic life.

Day 01 : Arrival at Cochin 

Arrival at Cochin Airport/ Ernakulam Railway station and transfer to Hotel. Check-In into Hotel. Overnight stay at Cochin.

 

Day 02 : Cochin – Munnar  ( 130 Km / 4 hrs ) Approx

After Breakfast, Check-Out from Hotel and transfer to Munnar . Munnar is 1800 mts above sea level and also the place of South India's highest peak (anamudi-2695 mts). On the way visit 

Valara Waterfalls : Fed by the Deviyar river, Valara Falls is the place offers some absolutely stunning sights.

Cheeyappara waterfalls : The Cheeyarappa Falls is an on-the-way tourist attraction. It falls between Munnar and Kochi, in the district of Idukki, Kerala. One of the largest waterfalls in the state  the Cheyyappara Falls are a sight to behold. Cascading through seven tiers of stones, these falls are a force of nature that you can not only see and experience but dip your toes into and enjoy.

Tea Plantations : The resplendent tea plantations in Munnar are like a slice of haven plucked from the skies above. Perched at several feet over the sea level and boasting of misty skies above and green carpeted fields below, these splendid gardens and tea plantations are a must visit for every traveller.

On arrival at Munnar transfer to Hotel. Check in at Hotel. 

Afternoon visit Rajamala (eravikulam National Park - open as per the directions by the forest authorities ):  the best place to see Nilgiri Tahr (hermitragus Hilarious)- the mountain goat of South India.

Tata Tea Museum : The KDHP Tea Museum is an industry and history museum situated in Munnar, a town in the Idukki district of Kerala in South India. Tata Tea Museum is its official name, but it's also known as Nalluthanni Estate where it is located, or Kannan Devan Hills Plantation Tea Museum.

Evening have a short visit at Munnar town. You can see the beautiful tea estates like a green paradise. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 03 : Munnar Sight-seen 

Enjoy the sumptuous breakfast. Later proceed for a morning sightseeing trip of Munnar visit :

Attukad Waterfalls : Nestled 2 km away from Munnar amidst beautiful hills and lush green jungles, this pristine waterfall makes for romantic escapades and picnics site.

Mattupetty Dam: which offers many fascinating sights to relish. The Shola forests around Mattupetty are ideal for trekking and bird watching, with the variety of birds found there.

Kundala & Lake : is a picturesque town located at the confluence of three mountain streams namely Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala.

Photo Point : Photo Point is located 2 kms from Munnar, on the way to the Madupetty Dam. It is a small area of land, filled with calm woods and a small, sparkling stream. Because of its picturesque serenity and calm environment, it is a very popular attraction in Munnar.

Pothamedu View Point : Pothamedu View Point, situated 6 km off Munnar, is adorned with stretching hills and lush green mountains. One can witness the spectacular wide views of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations of the area.

Top Station : It the highest point in Munnar (1700 metres) to enjoy the panoramic view of the majestic Western Ghats and valley of Theni District of Tamil Nadu. Top Station with its low-lying clouds and abundant foliage, is an excellent example of natural beauty.

Anamudi Peak : Anamudi, the highest peak (2,695 m) of Western Ghats and South India lies south of the Himalayas and towers over the sanctuary. The slope of the hills is home to the Atlas moth, Nilgiri Langur, the lion-tailed macaque, leopards, and tigers.

Back to Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

 

Day 04 : Munnar – Thekkady ( 90 Km / 2Hrs ) Approx

After sumptuous breakfast. Later proceed to the most attractive feature of Thekkady i.e.

Periyar Wild life Sanctuary : The place where one can go for a Wildlife cruise to view a large variety of wildlife like Wild Elephants, Nilgiri Langur, Sambar Deer, Wild Bison, Wild Boar etc, and quite a lot of unique birds can also be spotted. You can recreate yourself by having Optional activities like spice plantation Tour, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking and Elephant ride.

Mudra Cultural Centre: Mudra Cultural Centre is famous for cultural events that specifically involve the traditional dance form, Kathakali and India's oldest form of martial arts, Kalaripayyattu. Tourists can also witness the laborious preparations the artists have to make before they watch their spectacular performances.

Kadathanadan Kalari Centre: It is a renowned centre of the traditional form of martial arts, Kalaripayyattu which was invented by Sage Parshuram. The programs arranged by the centre are specifically to showcase the ancient form of self-defence in a gallery specially designed for the safety of the fighters and the audience and to give insights into the discipline required for the art form.

Day 5 : Thekkady – Alleppey (130 km / 4 Hrs ) Approx

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey . Alappuzha (or Alleppey) is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons. on arrival check-In into Hotel the Explore Allppey visit :

Alleppey Beach : Alappuzha is referred to as the Venice of the East which has always enjoyed an important place in the maritime history of Kerala. Presently it is famous for its boat races, backwater holidays, beaches, marine products and coir industry.

Vembanda Lake : Vembanad Lake is the longest lake in India. The lake is known by different names in different places. Taking a house boat on the lake could be a fun experience.

Marari Beach : Boasting of coastal verve and undulating natural beauty, Marari beach is the perfect vacation spot for families and couples. Shining with golden sands and lined with palm trees, the beach spells beautiful in all its forms.

Pathiramana : Pathiramanal is a tiny island in the backwaters of Kerala near Alappuzha. ‘Pathiramanal’ meaning ‘sands of night’ boasts of verdant wilderness, serene lakeside and a picturesque landscape.

Coir Museum :  You can find numerous small scale industries weaving coir products. Most of their workers are females. The process first requires you to extract the coconut fibre from the coconut husks and then it is further processed and woven into mats and other products. Besides purchasing these products, you can also take a round and visit these small setups running all over town, for a better insight.

Back to Hotel. Overnight Stay at Alleppey.

 

Day 06: Alleppey - Kovalam 160 Km / 4Hrs ) Approx

After breakfast check out from hotel & drive to Kovalam. en-rout visit Sree Padamanabha Swamy Temple, in Trivndrum . Later continued drive to kovalam  On arrival check into hotel & we proceed to Full day at leisure at Kovalam. Spend the day in the sandy beaches (i.e - Lighthouse Beach, Kovalam Beach, Hawa Beach ) of Kovalam flanked by coconut groves on one side and Arabian Sea on the other & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07 : Day Excursion of  Kanyakumari ( 90 Km / 2 Hrs ) Approx

After Breakfast, Full day excursion of Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari sight-seen Visit : 

Vivekanand Rock Memorial : Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a well-known tourist monument placed in Vavathurai, Kanyakumari, India. The memorial stands on one of the two rocks, about 500 metres away from India's southern most tip. It was constructed in honour of Swami Vivekananda who is said to have attained enlightenment on this rock.

Thiruvalluvar Statue : Dedicated to the accomplished philosopher and poet Thiruvalluvar, this beautiful statue finds itself on a small island near Kanyakumari. Thiruvalluvar was the author of a legendary work in the world of Literature, Tirukkural, the classic Tamil text.

Kumari Amman Temple : If you are going to visit India and especially the city of Kanyakumari then one place that you should definitely go and see is Kumari Amman Temple. You can find the many cultural heritages of the Indian people in Kumari Amman Temple.

Vattakottai Fort : The southernmost tip of India. The fort is largely made of granite blocks and today, a part of the fort even extends into the sea. The Fort is now a protected site under the Indian Archaeological Department and a major renovation of the fort was undertaken recently by the Department. All its rustic beauty has now made the site a popular tourist spot.

Sunset Point : Whoever says that sunsets are hyped has never visited the Sunset Point in Kanyakumari, which provides breathtaking and magnificent views of the setting sun amidst the clear bright sky in the background, and the pure blue waters underneath it.

Kanyakumari Beach :

View Tower : Undoubtedly one of the places that offer the best scenic views and sceneries of the clear blue seas and the never-ending sky that meets it at infinity.

Thanumalayan Temple : The Temple exemplifies architectural brilliance.

Gandhi Mandapam : Gandhi Mandapam is one of the greatest monuments that you can look at when you go to India. The Gandhi Mandapam was erected to honor the world famous Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi.

Return to Kovalam. Overnight stay in Hotel at Kovalam.

 

Day 08: Kovalam – Cochin ( 213 Km/6 Hrs ) Approx

After breakfast check out from the hotel drive to Cochin. n arrival Check-In into Hotel. After some rest visit :

Fort Kochi : Fort Kochi is a small village along the Arabian coastline and is famous for the Chinese Fishing Nets, Dutch Cemetery, Synagogue and Churches.

Mattancherry Palace : The Mattancherry Palace is a Portuguese palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace, in Mattancherry, Kochi Kerala. The murals depict Hindu temple art, portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi.

Chinesse Fishing Nets : Bearing witness to the entry of Chinese into Kerala long ago, legends tell that these nets were a gift of the famous Chinese King, Kublai Khan. Fishermen even today use these elaborate conventional fishing nets, making it the only other destination other than China to have and use these fishing nets.

Willingdon Island : The Willingdon Island is one of the largest human-made islands in India which is named after Lord Willingdon, the British Viceroy of India. This beautiful island provides various links between Kochi port and other national and international ports.

Bolgatty Palace : One of the oldest Dutch Palaces outside Holland, the Bolgatty Palace is situated on the Bolgatty Island. It was built in the year 1744 and was the official residence of the then Governor of Kochi.

Back to Hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel at Cochin.

 

Day 09: Departure from Cochin

After breakfast check out from the hotel drive to Cochin. Drop at Cochin Airport or Ernakulam railway station for your onward  Destination.
